At Von der Heyden Yachting, we believe that adopting eco-conscious practice is a shared responsibility across all industries, including yachting. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact through meaningful, forward-thinking initiatives that protect the ocean we navigate.
As part of our sustainability journey, we equip our owned vessels with environmentally friendly products for guests to enjoy and ensure all onboard cleaning is done using low-impact, eco-certified detergents.
We offer our charter guests the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their journey through our partnership with Yacht Carbon Offset, a specialist service that calculates emissions and invest in certified carbon reduction projects. In 2022 alone, we offset two-thirds of our total emissions (126 MTCO2e) by supporting the Soubré Hydroelectric Power project in Côte d’Ivoire.
Eco-conscious cruising begins with operating yachts at their most fuel-efficient speeds, significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions. By optimising cruising speeds and engine performance, we minimise environmental impact while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. This responsible approach not only conserves resources but also supports our commitment to more sustainable yachting practices.
